Philips stapt bij een deel van zijn tv's over van Google TV naar Titan OS. Op Titan OS is een app afgeschermd van de rest van de tv: we hebben geen manier gevonden om te zien welke app er open staat, de tijd per app bij te houden of een pauzescherm over een andere app heen te tonen.

Philips is moving part of its TVs from Google TV to Titan OS. On Titan OS an app is shut off from the rest of the TV: we have found no way to see which app is open, track the time per app or show a break screen on top of another app.

SwipeBuddy via een Android-stickSwipeBuddy through an Android stick

Een stick of box met Google TV in de HDMI-poort maakt van elke tv een tv waarop SwipeBuddy TV werkt: schermtijd per app, een pauze als een limiet is bereikt, bedtijd en beheer vanaf de telefoon van de ouder. SwipeBuddy TV zelf is gratis.

A stick or box with Google TV in the HDMI port turns any TV into one that SwipeBuddy TV works on: screen time per app, a break when a limit is reached, bedtime and management from the parent's phone. SwipeBuddy TV itself is free.

Niet geschikt: sticks van Amazon Fire TV (daar staat Google Play niet op) en goedkope ‘Android-boxen’ zonder Google Play.

Not suitable: Amazon Fire TV sticks (they do not have Google Play) and cheap ‘Android boxes’ without Google Play.

Zo stel je het inHow to set it up

  1. Koop een stick of box met Google TV of Android TV (zie hierboven), steek hem in een vrije HDMI-poort van de tv en sluit de voeding aan.
  2. Kies op de tv de HDMI-ingang van de stick en stel de stick in met een Google-account.
  3. Installeer SwipeBuddy TV uit Google Play op de stick en volg de stappen in de app. Stel een oudercode in, of koppel de stick aan SwipeBuddy Ouder.
  4. Zet de apps die in de tv zelf zitten (zoals YouTube, Netflix en de browser) op slot met de pincode van de tv, en kies een eigen pincode in plaats van de standaardcode. Dan gaat kijken via de stick.
  5. Log op de stick in bij je streamingdiensten, zoals Netflix, YouTube en Disney+. Vanaf nu gelden daar de grenzen van SwipeBuddy.
  1. Buy a stick or box with Google TV or Android TV (see above), plug it into a free HDMI port on the TV and connect the power.
  2. Select the stick's HDMI input on the TV and set up the stick with a Google account.
  3. Install SwipeBuddy TV from Google Play on the stick and follow the steps in the app. Set a parent code, or pair the stick with SwipeBuddy Parent.
  4. Lock the apps built into the TV itself (such as YouTube, Netflix and the browser) with the TV's PIN, and choose your own PIN instead of the default one. Then watching goes through the stick.
  5. Sign in to your streaming services on the stick, such as Netflix, YouTube and Disney+. From now on SwipeBuddy's limits apply there.

Goed om te weten: SwipeBuddy ziet alleen wat er via de stick wordt bekeken. Tv-zenders via de antenne of de kabel, en een PlayStation of ander apparaat dat direct op de tv zit, ziet SwipeBuddy niet. Die tellen alleen mee op een tv die zelf Google TV of Android TV heeft.

Good to know: SwipeBuddy only sees what is watched through the stick. TV channels from the aerial or cable, and a PlayStation or other device plugged straight into the TV, are not seen by SwipeBuddy. They only count on a TV that runs Google TV or Android TV itself.
