Fire OS (de meeste Fire TV-sticks en Fire TV-tv's) is gebaseerd op Android, maar zonder Google Play. Of SwipeBuddy TV via de Amazon Appstore kan werken, zoeken we nog uit.
Fire OS (most Fire TV sticks and Fire TV TVs) is based on Android, but without Google Play. We are still looking into whether SwipeBuddy TV can work through the Amazon Appstore.
Vega OS zit op de nieuwste Fire TV-sticks, zoals de Fire TV Stick 4K Select. Het is geen Android en draait geen Android-apps. Net als bij Samsung en LG is een app er afgeschermd van de rest, dus daar komt geen SwipeBuddy-app voor.
Vega OS is on the newest Fire TV sticks, such as the Fire TV Stick 4K Select. It is not Android and does not run Android apps. Just as on Samsung and LG, an app is shut off from the rest there, so there will be no SwipeBuddy app for it.

Een stick of box met Google TV in de HDMI-poort maakt van elke tv een tv waarop SwipeBuddy TV werkt: schermtijd per app, een pauze als een limiet is bereikt, bedtijd en beheer vanaf de telefoon van de ouder. SwipeBuddy TV zelf is gratis.
A stick or box with Google TV in the HDMI port turns any TV into one that SwipeBuddy TV works on: screen time per app, a break when a limit is reached, bedtime and management from the parent's phone. SwipeBuddy TV itself is free.

Niet geschikt: sticks van Amazon Fire TV (daar staat Google Play niet op) en goedkope ‘Android-boxen’ zonder Google Play.
Not suitable: Amazon Fire TV sticks (they do not have Google Play) and cheap ‘Android boxes’ without Google Play.
Zo stel je het inHow to set it up
- Koop een stick of box met Google TV of Android TV (zie hierboven), steek hem in een vrije HDMI-poort van de tv en sluit de voeding aan.
- Kies op de tv de HDMI-ingang van de stick en stel de stick in met een Google-account.
- Installeer SwipeBuddy TV uit Google Play op de stick en volg de stappen in de app. Stel een oudercode in, of koppel de stick aan SwipeBuddy Ouder.
- Zit er al een Fire TV-stick in de tv? Haal hem eruit, of zet ouderlijk toezicht aan met een pincode. Zet bij een Fire TV-tv de apps in de tv zelf op slot met een pincode.
- Log op de stick in bij je streamingdiensten, zoals Netflix, YouTube en Disney+. Vanaf nu gelden daar de grenzen van SwipeBuddy.
- Buy a stick or box with Google TV or Android TV (see above), plug it into a free HDMI port on the TV and connect the power.
- Select the stick's HDMI input on the TV and set up the stick with a Google account.
- Install SwipeBuddy TV from Google Play on the stick and follow the steps in the app. Set a parent code, or pair the stick with SwipeBuddy Parent.
- Is there already a Fire TV stick in the TV? Unplug it, or turn on parental controls with a PIN. On a Fire TV TV, lock the apps built into the TV with a PIN.
- Sign in to your streaming services on the stick, such as Netflix, YouTube and Disney+. From now on SwipeBuddy's limits apply there.
Goed om te weten: SwipeBuddy ziet alleen wat er via de stick wordt bekeken. Tv-zenders via de antenne of de kabel, en een PlayStation of ander apparaat dat direct op de tv zit, ziet SwipeBuddy niet. Die tellen alleen mee op een tv die zelf Google TV of Android TV heeft.
Good to know: SwipeBuddy only sees what is watched through the stick. TV channels from the aerial or cable, and a PlayStation or other device plugged straight into the TV, are not seen by SwipeBuddy. They only count on a TV that runs Google TV or Android TV itself.
